We had another enjoyable day at our Annual Show with demonstrations on two lathes, a sales table and our ever popular tombola. We had some high quality entries in each of the competition categories with the winners and runners up as follows:

Despite the awful weather forecast for the day, we had a very enjoyable and busy day at our Annual Show. As usual, we had three members demonstrating turning on our two lathes. Our sales table and tombola had lots of visitors. We had some excellent entries into our competitions, which were judged by John Lancaster RPT and a member of St John's Garden Centre staff.
The competition winners and runners up were as follows:
Class 1 - Novice
Winner: Graham Johnson (Desk tidy, made from an old fence post)
Runner up: There was no entry this year
Class 2 - Intermediate
Winner: Bob Wilson (Goblet made from Brown Ivory and Zebrano)
Runner up: Bryan Burgess (Goblet)
Class 3 - Advanced
Winner: George Manning (Biscuit Barrel)
Runner up: Peter Steart (Jewellery Box in olive ash)
Class 4 - Master
Winner: Martin Coates (hollow form in Yew)
Runner up: Alan Coates (hollow forn in Yew)
Class 5 - Novelty
Winner: Stephen Cooke (Lundy Old Light made from Leylandii)
Runner up: David Hall (Cube in oak on a walnut feature)
